How do you unzip a ZIP file on your phone? (Kako raspakovati ZIP fajl na telefonu?)

Problem: you just downloaded the zip file on your phone and you need to unzip it.

Solution: zip application RAR.

But how? Let's go step by step.

1. For example, you signed up for my e-newsletter on The Minuette Food Recipes. You have received a confirmation email. You have clicked on the button to confirm your subscription, the download of the document to your phone has started. The file has arrived in your "Downloads" folder.

2. Type "zip" into Google "play store". Click on the zoom icon. From the list, I selected "RAR" from RARLAB.

2b. Download the app to your phone.

3. You need to get to the Downloads folder. On my phone, I go to "Files".

4. Click on "Downloads" (download folder).

5. In the picture, the first file from the top.

6. Select the file you need to unpack.

7. In the upper right corner, click on the three dots one below the other.

8. Select "Open with" from the drop-down list.

9. An option to select the RAR application will appear from the bottom of the phone.

10. Click on the RAR application.

11. A window will pop up on your screen if you want to support the development of the application. Click on “Dismiss”. This message will often appear in the free version of the application.

12. You see 3 documents in pdf format, but they have not been extracted (unpacked) yet. Select all three documents - click on the squares.

13. Click on the icon with 3 books and an up arrow to create a folder and unpack the file, in this example the-minuette-foodzine.

14. A menu with extracting (unpacking) options will open. Under the two buttons, on the line, change the name if you want. This is the name of the folder where all 3 pdf documents will be.

14b. The two selected options highlighted are standard.

The first "Ask before overwrite" (before you rename the folder to be asked from this application).
Second "Overwrite without prompt" rename without asking.
The third "Skip existing files".

I left the first option because I like to know before the name changes.

The following 4 options:

"Keep broken files" keeps damaged files.
"Do not extract paths" does not unpack the paths.
"Extract archives to subfolders" unpack archives into subfolders.
"Display extracted files" shows the unpack files.

I chose the last option here.

So, the first and last option were selected.

15. I changed to Foodzine, because I already have the name mentioned above. Be careful not to erase the slash. Then click on OK in the lower part of the phone, in the right corner.

16. Now you see the elements of the unpacked zip file. In my example, 3 pdf documents.

Now, you are wondering what is the difference between the picture from step 12 and the picture from this step 16? I was wondering 🤔

There is no difference in the picture, except that they were taken at different times, BUT THERE IS in the fact that you do not have the documents unpacked in "Downloads" before you unpack the zip file. Maybe I think too much 😁

17. Exit the RAR application.

18. Go to "Files" again. Then click "Downloads" (download folder). There are your unzipped documents as well as the zip file (if you are on the "All" option).

In the image, the first item from the top is the file I extracted. The PDF documents appear twice because, before writing this article, I extracted a zip file to see how the process works.

19. In the upper part, you have a folder with the name you entered in step 15. In this example - Foodzine.

Ali kako? Idemo korak po korak.

1. Npr, prijavili ste se na moj elektronski bilten na The Minuette Food Recipes. Dobili ste email za potvrdu. Kliknuli ste na dugme za potvrdu vase prijave (pretplate), pocelo je preuzimanje dokumenta na vas telefon. Fajl je stigao u vas “Downloads” (fasickla preuzimanje).

4. Klik na “Downloads” (fasickla preuzimanje).

5. Na slici, prvi fajl odozgo

6. Selektujte fajl koji treba da raspakujete.

7. U gornjem desnom ugly kliknite na tri tackice jedna ispod druge.

8. Iz padajuce liste izaberite “Open with” (otvorite sa).

9. Odozdo na telefonu pojavice vam se opcija da izaberete aplikaciju RAR.

10. Kliknite na aplikaciju RAR.

11. Iskocice vam prozor na ekranu, ako zelite da podrzite rad aplikacije. Kliknite na “Dismiss” (odbiti). Ova poruka ce vam se cesto pojavljivati u besplatnoj verziju aplikacije.

12. Vidite 3 dokumenta u pdf formatu, ali jos nisu raspakovana. Selektujte sva tri dokumenta - kliknite na kvadratice.

13. Kliknite na ikonu sa 3 knjige i strelicom na gore, da napravite folder i raspakujete fajl, u ovom primeru the-minuette-foodzine.

14. Otvorice vam se meni sa opcijama za raspakivanje. Ispod dva dugmeta, na liniji, promenite ime ako zelite. To je ime fascikle (foldera) u kome ce biti sva 3 pdf dokumenta.

14b. Dve izabrane opcije koje svetle su standardne.

Prva “Ask before overwrite” (pre nego preimenujete folder da vas pita - aplikacija).
Druga “Overwrite without prompt” preimenuj bez pitanja.
Treca “Skip existing files” preskoci postojece datoteke.

Ja sam ostavila prvi opciju jer volim da znam pre nego sto se ime promeni.

Sledece 4 opcije:

“Keep broken files” zadrzi ostecene datoteke.
“Do not extract paths” ne raspakuj pitanje.
“Extract archives to subfolders” raspakuj arhive u podfoldere.
“Display extracted files” prikazi raspakovane fajlove.

Ja ovde izabrala zadnju opciju.

Znaci, izabrane su prva i zadnja opcija.

15. Ja sam promenila u Foodzine, jer vec imam gore pomenuti naziv. Pazite da ne obrisete kosu crtu. Zatim kliknite na OK u donjem delu telefona, u desnom uglu.

16. Sad vidite elemente raspakovanog zip fajla. U mom primeru, 3 pdf dokumenta.

E sad, pitate se koja je razlika izmedju slike iz koraka 12. i slike iz ovog koraka 16? Ja sam se pitala 🤔

Razlika u slici nema, osim sto su snimljenje u razlicito vreme, ALI IMA u tome da nemate raspakovane dokumente u “Downloads” (fasickla preuzimanje) pre nego sto raspakujete zip fajl. Mozda puno razmisljam 😁

17. Izadjite iz RAR aplikacije.

18. Idite opet na “Files” (datoteka). Pa u “Downloads” (fasickla preuzimanje). Tu se nalaze vasi dokumenti koje ste raspakovali kao i zip fajl (ako ste na “All” (sve) opciji.

Na slici, prvo odozgo je fajl koji sam raspakovala. Pdf dokumenti su dupli jer pre pisanja ovog članka raspakovala sam jedan zip da vidim kako ide proces.

19. U gornjem delu, imate folder sa nazivom koji ste upisali u koraku 15. U ovom primeru - Foodzine.
